The days leading up to Memorial Day were completely awash in a load of calculated disappointments. I had my heart set into going home for a visit. I had planned this for a while even going so far as to schedule off the Friday before the weekend holiday weeks in advance for Danny and I so we could get an early start on the drive to New Orleans.
