I think this is old news now, but any of the yaoi fans on my flist kind of excited about

All I know is it's a 13 episode remake, and this time it's supposed to be scripted (or something) by the original author whose novel it was based off of. Sounds like it might be the same seiyuu principals, too. Anyway, a few things:

1. Same character designer, updated production values? SPIFFY. (I always liked the way the characters were drawn in the original 2-episode OVA.) Not to mention how yaoi titles haven't really seen decent animation since the AnK and Legend of Blue Wolves days. It'll be nice to see a return to that.
2. 13 eps > 2 eps. Obviously. I was never able to read the novel it was based off, and the exposition in the original OVA was.. rather exceptionally poor. And the 20-minute explanation tacked on by the fansubbers at the beginning of my old Ai no Kusabi rip just does not stick with you when you're trying to make sense of all the glossed over plot points and scenes and characters and shit they throw at you all willy-nilly. So here's hoping the story and caste-systems and particular Tanagura politics will actually make sense this time around.
3. LOL promo art Iason is dumpy.
4. I see Riki's shirt is painted on. I kind of miss his old baggy tanktop. It made his ridiculous man-bikini special.
5. Speaking of which, generally updated aesthetics as well. And while I approve of the pleasing new silhouettes to the Elites' pretty new outfits, I must express some dismay that the Blondies are no longer dressing like Gundams.
