This morning (or whatever) two lovely, talented, and much admired Brit wordsmiths on my Twitterpage graced the world with thoughts on the weather in their respective vicinities. The one entry really was right after the other, and the juxtaposition made me giggle most girlishly...
Stephen Fry: Just arisen. A little j-lagged but bouncy. I shall spend the day going thru the thousands of #oscarwildeday pearls. And what do pearls mean? Prizes! That's what pearls mean. Forgive reference that might be arcane to some. Honestly, twitterworld has excelled itself. Beyond belief. But now I shall go for a walk. Gorgeous morning in NYC. Crime not to.
Warren Ellis: It is so fucking cold out there that I can feel lumps of ice jingling together in my testicles. Not the Christmas tunes you want to hear, no.

Subject: Tempura eggplant for a delicious afternoon snack.
Outcome: It tastes like burning. And also some batter. I don't think I'm cut out for food preparations from the homeland (er, the not!America one) that don't involve copious amounts of rice. Mostly rice, and the shaping of it.
