Drove on the freeway for the first time today, where there was just very mild traffic on the way to University Art. Still shit my pants on the merging and exits. Why would anyone drive on those things, WHY? (Hush, I know why, I'm traumatized and in need of a cookie.) Boy am I not looking forward to my driver's test on Friday -_-
Also, the SAG Awards--I tuned in just as the FABULOUS OH MY GOD JULIE ANDREWS WHY ARE YOU SO FABULOUS was given the Life Achievement award. And she was classy and fabulous and looked beautiful and talked about delicious men and her "main squeeze" director husband and was fabulous some more. *dies of fabularia* But FUCK I missed Hugh Laurie while I was in the other room washing dishes, where I thought those were the dulcet tones of Hugh Laurie I was hearing over the faucet, but foolishly ignored it. What happened? What was it for? Did he say clever and hilarious things again? I MUST KNOW.
Totally unrelated, but under the subconscious pushings of
jen_in_japan and
adora_spintriae while in the comicstore, I caved and purchased the Superman: Birthright trade along with the recent Midnighter (I know, I know, but I like the pretty art, even if it was kind of dodgy this time around). But, being Birthright, I wanted it pretty and shiny and pristine, and this one had an orange highlighter stroke lining the edges of the pages. Went to the cashier asking if there were any more copies without the mark, intending to give up on it if there were none. BUT I think, assuming I wanted it whether there was an extra copy or not, he said he'd take 45% off the charge, and tossed in the plastic sleeve & board for free when I asked for one (for the sleeve, not for free stuff). Which is, you know, really ridiculously good, considering it wasn't that big a marking. So, pretty woobie!Clark book. I'm happy.
