I was talking with someone the other day about the 5 senses. If there was one sense that you had to be without, which sense would it be?
This is a toughy. I came to the conclusion that I'd want to lose my taste. Seeing, hearing, and feeling are way too valuable of senses, so those were knocked off the chart pretty easily. Then I was left with smell and taste. Well, I'd like smell things, because what if I have bad BO one day? I need to know. Smell is good. Smell reminds you of things like the way smell of wood reminds me of the bunk beds at camp. So I need that. So that leaves taste. The only downside of that puppy is that you wouldn't be able to taste your food - so eating would become a chore. So basically you could eat anything, which would actually be kind of amazing. I could go to resuarants and pick whatever the heck I want. I wouldn't have to sit for 10 minutes deciding on what I felt like eating (haha, I almost wrote ATING... as in ate.) I wonder if texture of foods would start mattering to me. Like, the texture of spaggetti might get pretty nasty after a while. I could win all those iron stomach contests where they mix ketchup, guts, and a McDonald's happy meal together. But the texxxxxture. OK, I just wouldn't look, because I can't taste it. That's the money right there. I'd win by not looking and just eating. But I'm not sure if I could do the whole eating live bug things. NO, I don't think I could. Even with my taste, I don't care about the way it taste, just the fact that it's a bug. EWwwwwwj;eajwepoiaweoipoiwe. Mmmm. So if I was to be born without a sense, I'd be born without my taste sense. What about you?
