Now where was I...oh yeah, after I worked with
Palegothgoddess at Lew's Pontiac shoot-out, I went back in the building to see who might be available. While there I ran into a photographer who I took a color photography course with a year or so earlier. We caught up on who was shooting what now from our class and the like. It was nice to see her as she was always this very kind presence in the class that I never got to really chat with much.
I was talking to her when Amy Jackson walked by. I worked with her very briefly. I took maybe 5 shots with her outdoors.
She has an intriguing look about her. I did not shoot her for the usual model reasons. I did not want to play up beauty or some such, I shot her for mood. The shots are not something a model would use to show them at their "best." They were shot to haunt. Something about her pale skin and cold light works for me. I thought then and think now under certain conditions this lady could kill for ambiance. But the vibe was not there. Things were rushed. I arrived late and the shoot was ending soon. Everyone seemed in a hurry and things did not flow so much as gush.
Then I worked with, Simply Sin. I think I only took 3 shots of her, vibe was not right on that too. As you can see I was still channeling the Spirit of the Buttman:
Finally, I worked with SEG. She was funny as hell and I think I took maybe 12 to 15 shots. Vibe was good but there was not enough time to explore what she could really do on film. 'wonder if she is still modeling?
Although the shoot was organized chaos, it worked for me. I work okay in chaos, I can usually create in it. Life is order fighting chaos; entropy and all that so shooting for me is somewhat life affirming. I think of the group shoots I have been to this was one of the better; certainly one of the most enjoyable. I prefer a hands off approach by the host. Everyone just kind of flowed and drifted toward and away from one another as it should be...And it was good to know that locally we support each others events. If Lew every has another one and I get invited, I'll probably show up on time.
