Privacy!
I don't know why, but I don't like people I do not know at all coming to my house. It feels like some weird violation of privacy. Our roommate was selling a computer monitor and instead of meeting him at the community center, the guy just comes right on over while I'm sitting here working at my computer. Uh, hello stranger! It would have been better if I knew he was even coming. Friends of friends is cool, even if I don't know them. It's just complete strangers. I think my mom passed this on to me, because she was like that when I was growing up. I know it sounds really weird and irrational, and especially in this case because the guy seemed pretty nice and normal. But when you're selling stuff, do you really want some random person coming to your house? They know the kind of stuff you have in your house, and who knows. God that sounds paranoid. :(
