I've had a little bit of free time a couple of days, and I decided to spend that time doing something constructive rather than just wasting time. So I ended up calling and e-mailing people that are important to me, just to tell them how much they mean to me and whatnot. I assure you that this wasn't *totally* random. See, last weekend I was driving around aimlessly with my friend Kevin because we were waiting for a coffee house to open. So there we were, driving around downtown and listening to an awesome mix CD that I made, and just talking. Then the topic of his grandmother came up - I attended a funeral for her a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, Kevin began talking about all of the great times that he had spent with her, but how he never really had a chance to tell her how much she meant to him. And then I started thinking about this, and I juxtaposed this whole conversation with the images of everyone that I know that has made a huge impact on my life by just *being* there. And then I realized that it would probably be a good idea to let these people know just how special they are, rather that just talking about them in the company of other people. And yeah, I wasn't really expecting a huge response or anything, but the response was amazing. People like to know that they're loved - everyone should make it a point to make at least one phone call tonight to just say "hi" and make someone's day....
What else? I'm supposed to be doing a "trend analysis" paper for my ACP English class. I was thinking about analyzing online communities like LJ or Friendster, (who's on friendster, btw? I joined a long time ago, and I never got around to adding any friends!) but I'm not quite sure if there's enough viable info out there. Does anyone have any better ideas?
Uh...I have a lot more to say, but I think I've rambled on enough for now. I foresee another loooong entry being posted tomorrow. Or maybe not - I'll probably become terribly unproductive and do homework or something crazy like that. Heh. ;-)
