Went to Hyde Park yesterday for an SCA demo at the fair. It was a lot of fun and a very long day.
My Lady Python, The Cub and I had spent the previous two days making some boffin swords - foam and plastic versions of broadswords. They were in three sizes, micro, medium and ... compensatory.
Not long after arriving, when things seemed to move a little, The Cub challenged me to a boffin fight. Soon afterwards, there was a line of kids wanting their turn. It was a very long day after that.
We put on three shows of official demos while four of us took turns between official demos beating up and being beaten up by kids. By the end I just wanted to sit and not do anything anymore.
Yikes.
One of our crew left their phone behind so I set it's alarms for very early in the morning... and gave it to someone who could get the phone to him. *snigger*
The fair itself was mostly meh.
My Lady Python and I are attempting to get our act together (as in mostly I am trying to get my act together) and be in a postition to purchase a house. I figure it's about time. Then I'll have lots of debt to pay off - le sigh.
So, off to work I go...
