“I have to take a test?”
Axel grinned at the confused water master, cackling in his mind. “Don’t worry, Demyx!” he drawled, sliding his arm around the blonde’s shoulders. “Everyone in the Organization must take a special initiation test. I had to, Saix had to, so you do, too.”
Demyx was convinced, but he was still worried. Xemnas had never mentioned this to him! But Axel sounded so sure…and he was his first friend…
“O-okay…what do I have to do?” he asked, giving asked a pouty look, clearly showing his unwillingness to do anything short of a test to get into the Organization. He really didn’t want to be in it, but it was so much better than the option of becoming a Dusk. That and he liked his water powers…
The smirk that curled itself on Axel’s face would never leave Demyx’s memory. It was a wonder how in later years he would never catch its meaning until he was sitting in the big white chairs, confronted by the Superior.
Axel leant down to Demyx’s ear, breathing softly so that his warm breath-warmer than most people, Demyx had to note-didn’t disrupt the loose strands of the blonde’s hair. And he whispered, low and dark, “Now here’s what I want you to do…”
Then the seed of mischief was planted in Demyx’s untainted mind.

That day, the punishment for popping Xigbar’s eyepatch was Axel-confinement. Leaving Demyx alone with Saix to do any chores would have most likely resulted in one less member. With Axel…well, it was better than bloodshed.
But it ended with an accidental kiss, and Demyx was no longer the main subject of Axel’s sadistic torture of pranks and tricks.
