I have been vegetarian for about 6 years, and I mostly hate the idea of any meat at this point - with one exception.  I still sometimes crave those disgusting breaded, fried chicken strips from places like KFC or Bojangles.  >_<   As it seems that my craving isn't going to go away anytime soon, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good vegetarian ( Read more... )

i made vegan dad breaded "chicken" tofu yesterday and was not a fan. I wish i did this recipe instead.

I am so amazingly in love with the Morning Star Farms chickenless buffalo tenders. They are SO GOOD if you like buffalo-style stuff--crunchy, great texture inside, and spicy!

Also, I've generally had very good experience with the chickenless stuff you can find at Trader Joe's.

Morningstar Farms Farms also makes vegetarian chicken strips. I haven't had meat in 24 years, but they seem pretty much like the real thing.

I bet if you made chickpea cutlets with mock-chicken broth and breaded them, they'd get the texture of chicken fingers pretty well.

I had those cravings when I was pregnant and I found that Shakey's mojo potatoes did the trick. Now days I like to have Kettle salt and pepper chips for the same craving - it works!
