So I bought tickets to the Muse concert at Clutch Cargo on Thursday, the day before the show. Yeah kind of a last minute thing. So Steve and I drove down about 3:30 and listened to a nice mix of deathmetal, Tenacious D, Elliott Smith, and Muse. The line up at the door was divided by guys and girls which I've never seen at a show. Steve thought he hit the jackpot when we first were waiting in the female line :) I think I remember someone saying fuck metal concerts? The building was awesome. A big church, but small enough so you had a decent view from almost anywhere. I took a Muse poster off the wall, and Steve did too eventually. Kind of annoying to hang on to, but when I set it on a ledge when standing next to a wall this blonde chick came up and tried to take it. Almost had us a fight. he he We were hangin out in back but when Muse came out there was a big rush to the front and Steve and I managed to get real close. It was a ridiculously amazing performance! The same little kid I saw at Curiosa was there. I saw Scott afterwards. I walked over to say hi and he was on the floor looking for the lens of his glasses that came out during the last song. Poor guy.
Steve and I ended up waiting outside by the tour buses. After the longest wait ever in the freezing cold, Muse finally came out. I got my poster signed :D The drummer liked my magenta sharpie, and asked if he could keep it. Someone yelled out that they wanted Matt's scarf, and he said nah, sorry my mum made it for me. Cheers Cheers from the bass player. So they told us they were going to Liberty Bar and that we were cordially invited to join them. Heck ya! Dayna and Andy we met that night rode with us. We weren't sure where it was. No one we stopped and asked knew. So we're driving and a group of people are crossing the road and Steve said something about "stupid kids" and it was actually the band walking to the bar! Ha so we just followed them and parked. I ended up trading seats with Andy so I could sit on the barstool right next to the singer. Scott says Matt Bellamy is god, well in that case I've had a cherry coke chillin with God. ha When his girlfriend got up to go to the bathroom, I said Hey Matt could my brother and I get a picture? Its a little blurry but its something. This one guy came over and talked with me and Steve. He must have been some kind of manager or media promoter. He was pretty funny. I told him we were from Saginaw, Michigan and he got all excited and said oh Chicago is in Michigan right? So we said eh no, but close enough. He said yeah whatever, I dont know the states. He said they were all moving on to Lucky's bar if we wanted to go. But it was late so we headed home.
