well, things here are......weird, i guess. i'm home in st louis for the next week or so, until i go back to truman for the semester. my great-uncle passed away on monday morning, so i had a hectic couple of days trying to move out of and clean up my big's apartment as well as the lab and getting research stuff taken care of [someone has to water the plants when i'm not there]. and, of course, spending the last bit of time with chad and heather that we'd have together as a "summer." thanks to everyone for their well-wishes, prayers, and thoughts.

so i've realized over the past few weeks that i really do like the catholic church and i enjoy being catholic. yes, i realize that my position on all this changes every few months, but it's nice to have a steady place to come back to when thoughts keep coming. but i've been working through some of my issues, and, with the help of some friends, i think it will all be okay. the world won't end and i won't be excommunicated [for all the trying i've done :P ] and i can live with that.

i love organic chemistry. i really, truly do. i've spent some time this summer helping a couple friends with org, and making up worksheets to review and answering questions, explaining concepts, and the like. it makes me happy like nothing else really has been able to. it's a strange kind of feeling, almost as if i have a purpose that i actually enjoy. oh, and it's fun to read the labels on your food and then get excited shouting "i can draw that!"

well, i need to be off now. we've got another long day tomorrow.
