Or not. Because they can basically be summed up with this:
Seriously, though: I did not like this episode. It wasn't atrocious or anything, but it was underwhelming and I found it silly at times. Dragons, Dean trying to pull out the sword... just, no. They do not have the money to pull of the special effects they were going for this episode, and it just ended up looking...well, cheap. I don't really care for fancy effects and whatnot, and I think that generally the effects are pretty cool (especially considering their limited budget) but this just didn't work for me.
I also was not a fan of the whole virgin plotline. Especially when Dean suggested that the girl was a virgin (so he has a virgin-radar... what the fuck even?), and Sam replied with "She's 22!" or something of the like. Huh, did I miss something? Last time I checked, being 22 =/= having had sex. To me, it felt OOC for Sam to say something like that, especially with such bewilderment.
And, the Mother... I don't really know where they're going with this/what's the point, but haven't we've seen similar ideas before? IDK, I'll reserve judgment for now and see where they take this.
There is a bright side, however: SAMMY IS BACK!! . It has been a while since we've seen you, the real you, my darling, floppy-haired, idealistic nerd! ♥ I basically had a grin plastered on my face throughout the Winchesters' bickering!
I kind of got why Dean wanted to keep everything from Sam, but shouldn't he know by now that these things always have a way of coming out? If Cas hadn't told him, Sam would've found it out another way.
Oh, also, I was extremely sadfaced when Sammy didn't give Cas his much needed hug. :( It was kind of hilarious, though, and it still satisfied my fangirlish cravings. And fic has to be born out of this, right?
I do wonder what made Sam recoil from Cas, though. Trauma from Michael and Lucifer, perhaps?
