I had a lot of different reactions watching these episodes, but I was too lazy to type them up in time, so here's the succinct outline of my irrelevant thoughts:

• Cas/Misha makes everything better.
• PROFOUND BOND.
• My "people skills" are "rusty"
• Crowly \o/
• Bobby kicks ass and is a one man operation.
• I want the floppy-haired, idealistic younger Winchester back.

Really, all I want to take the time to write is: Sam. What is going on with Sam? I realize that his change makes sense. He started out very idealistic and moral; after the shitstorm he's been through, it's no wonder he burned out and came out jaded. What he said to Dean at the end of episode 3 made perfect sense: he's a different person, and people react differently to the same experience. In my opinion, he wasn't saying that he's stronger or better than Dean; he was merely saying he dealt with things differently--for better or worse. And not only is he different from Dean, he's also different than who he was 5 years ago, much like we all are; even if it's more extreme in his case.

This episode, however... that glint in his eye and the smirk on his face as he watched Dean getting turned into a vampire was just... I don't even know where to begin. Personally, I think he took joy in watching Dean being turned into a "monster," after he spent much of his life feeling different and like he was being judged by his family. Now the tables have turned, and Dean would feel what it's like to have something evil inside. That's the first thing that came to mind as I was watching that scene, and Samuel's theory hadn't even occurred to me until he said it. Regardless, that was a whole new level of fucked up, and, yeah.

Other than that, I have no idea what was going on with the vampires. I found certain parts confusing.

Oh, and was I the only one bothered by uncomfortable Dean looked after the two male vampires/vampire wannabes kissed? Yes, I get that he's the alpha male and what not, but that doesn't mean he has to react like that.
But maybe he was just missing Cas?

And why couldn't Dean get all close and personal with the cute vampire? It just had to be the creepy one.

Yeah, I don't think I have anything else to say. It was a solid episode, I thought -- it wasn't exactly exceptional, but it was decent.

So in TMatEoTB, Lilith wanted to make a deal with Sam to assure her survival in the war, and get his and Dean's heads "on a stick." Since we know that her plan was to sacrifice herself, what was the point of that? It seemed like she was going to go through with it. And if it was a bluff, again, what was the point? She clearly wouldn't have harmed Sam, as he was crucial to her plans. It doesn't seem likely that she didn't know about his or her own role, as Ruby mentioned that Lilith was the only one aware of her intentions, and so it would stand to reason that she knew all along. Is this just a plot hole, or might there be a plausible explanation for her visit in the episode?
