Inglorious Basterds

I watched the movie last night with one of my best friends, and it was GENIUS.

CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON

The opening scene (chapter 1) had me nearly in tears. It was absolutely brilliantly done and I was creeped out and clutching on to my friend from the moment Col. Landa made the deal with the father (probably even before that).

The introduction scene to the Basterds wasn't really surprising since it's basically in all the trailers, but it was still pretty damn awesome.

When they were actually taking off the scalps, though... whoa. Kinda made me cringe.

The interrogation scene? Funny, disturbing and brilliant. "Oblige him!"

I kinda have a crush on Mélanie Laurent, because I thought she was really good as Shosanna. Also, there's something very alluring about her, I don't know. Her features are unique in a beautiful way.

That scene when that Fredrick character (who got on my nerves right away) dragged her to that dinner with the director of his movie, and then Col. Landa showed up... how creepy was it when he ordered her a glass of milk? And when he left and she let out that heart-wrenching sob... brilliantly acted and directed scene.

I was so sad and stunned when Fredrick shot Shosanna.

Honestly, I thought Dianne Kruger would have a bigger part in the movie, thought I guess her character was still essential.
The scene in the pub was just goddamn intense. "That makes two of us. I've had a gun pointed at your balls since you sat down. " and then Hugo-"That makes three of us." Ha.

Also, the whole Italian thing!

Lt. Aldo Raine: Well I speak the most Italian, so I'll be your escort. Donowitz speaks the second most so he'll be your Italian cameraman. Omar speaks third most, so he'll be Donny's assistant.
Pfc. Omar Ulmer: But I don't speak Italian.
Lt. Aldo Raine: Like I said, third best. Just keep your fuckin' mouth shut. In fact why don't you start practicing, right now

And then at the party when Col. Landa started speaking Italian and Lt. Raine was just saying crap haha!

I'm also crushing Christoph Waltz, the guy that played Col. Landa, because he's a brilliant actor and played the most terrifying, chillingly creepy, heartless Nazi. He's Austrian, lives in London and was never in an American movie before IB.

The last chapter was just so fucking brilliant.

Col. Hans Landa: [giddy] That's a bingo!
Lt. Aldo Raine: [Lt. Aldo and PFC. Utivich stare at him in confusion]
Col. Hans Landa: Is that the way you say it: "That's a bingo?"
Lt. Aldo Raine: You just say "bingo".
Col. Hans Landa: Ahhh! BINGO! What fun! But, I digress. Where were we?

Also, the whole "little one" nickname for Utivich, lol! The look on his face when he went "they call me the little one?"
I <3 B.J Novak

And the ending! The ending!
Lt. Aldo Raine: [Aldo shoots Hans' driver Hermann, and gives Utivich a knife] Scalp Hermann.
Col. Hans Landa: Are you mad? What have you done? I made a deal with your general for that man's life!
Lt. Aldo Raine: Yeah, they made that deal, but they don't give a fuck about him. They need you.
Col. Hans Landa: You'll be shot for this!
Lt. Aldo Raine: Nah, I don't think so. More like chewed out. I've been chewed out before.

And Lt. Aldo and his materpiece! Heehee!

Lt. Aldo Raine FTW!
