Heh, it grosses my friends out when I call eggs "a period in a shell", but it's true!

that's why I tell them: the Ick factor. omni's eat way too much stuff without ever questioning where it came from. I just could never be that ignorant about my food!

I mean, it might be my background in biology and life sciences, but this is technically inaccurate. Endometrium and gametes are two very different things. Regardless, eating ovulations is gross.

This is (sort of?) why I don't eat eggs. I don't think it's all that different from eating meat. This view gets everyone, omni, veg, or vegan angry at me and I hear THAT'S RIDICULOUS over and over, but it's perfectly logical to me. Yes, it didn't get the fertilization, but it is still 50% of what would have been a chicken. It seems like it's too much a part of an animal to not be considered meat. Plus, you know, the grossness factor of even just looking at one out of its shell.

Yes! I try to explain this to my husband every time he says it. Eggs are gross, I don't deny that. But it 'aint no period! It's an egg!
