death threat and razor blades

Nov 12, 2010 09:51

On November 10, 2010, a UCLA researcher received a letter containing a death threat and razor blades within the package.  The letter was signed by an animal extremist group.  To date, this is the only reported incident of this type.  This incident is currently under investigation by the UCLA Police Department in conjunction with the FBI.

Is there a news source for this?

Know if by "only incident reported of this type" means it's the only letter type threat, or one which was exactly like that? It may actually be a good thing to reference when people claim animal extremists are crazy and extreme, as I think the general assumption is that this kind of thing happens weekly . . .

Aside from your complete lack of documentation, the usage of the word "animal extremist group" implies a bias here. Many animal rights organizations are considered extremists simply because of the cause they support. Hell, most vegans are considered extremists, even if they participate in no activism whatsoever.
