Parental troubles involving wedding plans. :(

For those of you who have had vegan weddings (I did a backhunt through old posts, so I know some of you all have...) did any of you have problems with your parents completely refusing to have vegan food

I think I may email her (avoiding the whole crying thing!) and let her know that we would like to have the banquet our way, we'll pay for everything, plan everything and all they have to do is attend and be happy.

I had intended on doing that anyway, but my mother seems to think she's planning and paying for it. They offered to pay for our wedding trip to Jamaica and I thought that was very nice of them. I can accept that gift (especially since they are saving much by doing this instead of a big white wedding...) but I am beginning to think I should insist on taking care of the banquet. I'll even offer to still have it in Racine, though I would rather not drive six hours, personally. She'll probably still balk. She's very stubborn... but luckily, so are we. :)

Maybe I can ask her to let me cook her and dad samples of what we'd offer... veggie brats and dawgs and burgers. Beg them to at least give it a shot! Heck, if we don't TELL anyone they are veggie, I doubt people there would even notice!

It seems easy typing it out to like minded folks but I know I'm in for one hell of fight with them over this. Grant me strength not to give up in frustration... *hopes*
