Lab Work Results

Ive confused things on this. In my family, there is diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and kidney failure. So when my work offered discount lab work, I was like, YAY!

I had lab work drawn and it came back with high triglycerides which happens when you eat too many carbohydrates. (from what I've read on various websites as well as this blog)

http://veggiedietitian.blogspot.com/2010/03/fat-in-vegan-diets-how-low-should-you.html

Some of the problems associated with very high carbohydrate diets (raised triglycerides, low HDL, small dense LDL)

Which is the exact description of what I had on my lab work. My LDL was low, 92 mg/dL (good). But my HDL was also on the low side 26 mg/dL(bad). although, I still came out with a not high or low overall number/ratio of the two (59.2)

Here's the thing. I think I sabotaged myself, I sort of forgot exactly when my lab work was supposed to be drawn until 2 days before the date. and there were various parties, potlucks etc as well as personal binge I entered the 2-3 weeks before lab work. Which consisted of fried foods, oreos, and potato chips. All of the above in copious amounts. and then 2 days before I was like... uh oh. And ate good the next 2 days before the lab work. haha. last ditch effort.

So now I don't know if the results of high TRI is because of my oreo binge or because of my high fruit, high vegetable, and therefore, high carbohydrate diet in which I aim for an 80/10/10 ratio. As an aside, despite this aim, I only usually get 70/15/15 (carbs, fats, protein respectively) and sometimes, but less often, 60/20/20.

------

There was only one other result that didn't come out exactly normal and (probably?) can't be explained by the poor diet prior. and that was my "Free T4" which was labeled as "low". but only mildly so-- 0.53. Range is supposed to be 0.58-1.64. From what I've read, this indicates an under active thyroid. Which could lead to weight gain as well as other things. And although I would love to blame my constant battle with weight on this, I just don't feel comfortable doing so. it's only mildly low, right? I don't have a regular doctor, but when I have my yearly I'll see if I can sneak in a conversation on my results.

Otherwise, for sure I don't have these things:

Diabetes
Anemia
Kidney or Liver disease
Cancer
High cholesterol
Clotting issues

which I should definitely take comfort in. honestly, my hobby of nutrition studies hasn't exactly taken me down the blood/lab work information.

Any thoughts, my vegan friends?

EDIT: I didn't want to discuss whether I REALLY had anything wrong with me. I wanted to see how other folks were coming up with their labs as they are also Vegan. Mostly encouraging idle thought and comparison of scores, like perhaps these things are usually high for Vegans etc etc.
