(no subject)
i saw a rat get run down on a busy street earlier. i was waiting for the bus a couple lanes away and saw it get knocked down, crushed, split open, squashed. and i was obviously disturbed and upset and people at school saw that too. When i told them why I was, the replies I got were all 'but it's just a rat' and 'it's the stupid rat's fault'.
=( it's not just a rat. it's a life too. would the response have been different if it had a cat? how about a puppy?! and why is it that it's only 'right' for drivers to stop if there's a person on the streets. but they get praised when they stop for (certain) animals on the streets.
is it really stupid and pathetic of me to get so upset over a rat? (though i think the reason why im really THIS upset now is because of what people have said to me)
(on a side note, i just discovered today that some boxed juices contain milk solids... >.< )
