I just stumbled across this video, and it sorta bummed me out. It's not even that they eat meat (which is, of course, gross and disappointing)--it's the disgusting way they talk about it

Yeah, I didn't think the vid was so bad. They prefer free range meat and have trouble eating a good diet on tour. Their notion of free range meat is a little romanticized though.
So I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that neither Tegan nor Sara are hurting for money, meaning that it would be considerably easier for them to remain vegan while on tour. I happen to know a few members of various bands that have went on tour with very little resources and were perfectly able to maintain their veganism.
you're absolutely right. I go on tour twice a year for 3-6 weeks at a time and manage to remain vegan along with the vocalist for my band and our merch guy. Even in the most remote part of Mississippi or wherever, you can still at the very least get something vegan from a Subway (not my preferred dining option, but I take what I can get). My band never stops at fast food places, and still gets by just fine.
I imagine other people here are fans, and might then have more reason to dislike what they say than you do. If they talk up vegan food but aren't and then talk up meat it's kinda gross to me, despite never listening to their music.
