This is something I've been thinking about for a few days now, I've been wondering if smoking tobacco fits in with a vegan lifestyle? It seems like if one is vegan and smokes tobacco, it could be contradictory. I don't smoke tobacco myself, I've even tried to get into cigarettes to find out what the big deal was and I couldn't handle them, ugh. I see a lot of people say that they are vegan for moral and ethical reasons and the tobacco industry is anything BUT moral and ethical. I'm mostly referring to Camel and Marlboro since those are the brands most people smoke and I'm sure most people are aware of all of the additives that go into them. I'm aware that there's brands like American Spirits that don't have additives but I'm pretty sure they're still rather harmful to your health regardless. Recently the FDA has received the OK to regulate the tobacco industry so maybe things will get cleaned up a little, we'll see. I'm asking this because I'm sure there are vegans out there who smoke cigarettes after having a wonderfully healthy meal. I'm honestly curious about this and what people have to say about it. That's about all I can think of to say at the moment... it's 6:38am and it's time for me to sleep.
