Since there is no alternative to animal-tested prescription medication, it is not practical or possible to always exclude it.

This.
I try to exclude medication that is not necessary and tested on animals from my life, like painkillers. But the allergy medication I have to take is the only option that works for now, and in that case it is not practical/possible for me to exclude it.

I should point out: that such products have been tested on animals does not imply that they could not exist, or have improved results, without alternative testing procedures having been done, instead.

To use animal-tested prescription medicine is not to support the idea that animal testing is a good thing for us as a species. In a lot of cases it's more of a recognition that it's what we as consumers have to deal with right now as we try to change things.

I know you think this, too, but I thought I'd make it explicit =)
