Next week I'm going down to Atlanta, GA with my mom to visit my brother for 5 days. I need vegan options at restaurants, but my brother is a die-hard meat-eater (and so is his girlfriend, I think) and will definitely not go to a vegetarian-only restaurant. My mom likes to eat vegetarian, but since we're visiting my brother, we need places we can ( Read more... )

R. Thomas FTW, definitely. I also agree that Cafe' Sunflower is good, but nothing for omnis (like the previous poster commented, my omni husband was only marginally impressed by the veggie burger)... I personally think it's pricey, though. And since it's vegetarian, you'd have to be careful, of course.

The World Peace Cafe' is great... you can't beat the energy there. And the concept of the place is phenomenal. There aren't too many of them around, so it's definitely one of those places you should go just to say you've gone. It's not omni, but I personally think a lot of the pasta dishes are pretty universally awesome.

I've been to Dynamic Dish once, and really liked it, but I'd recommend you call ahead. Because they do locally grown foods only, their menu changes constantly, so you might wanna make sure there are vegan options that day. It's also somewhat questionable how omni-friendly it would be on any given day, for the same reason. I also thought it was a little pricey. But they're good people with good food, for all that.

Sevananda is fabulous for pre-made vegan food, if you have the opportunity to be able to buy some stuff and keep it in the fridge. I've never been disappointed. Plus, it's in Little 5 Points, which shouldn't be missed, and probably has other good food options I'm not familiar with.

Of course, there are the big-box places like Doc Greens for salads and whatnot. One place that I haven't tried yet (it turned out to be closed when we went) is Chow Baby. Not specifically veg*n, but looks very much like it could easily be vegan - they definitely do vegetarian, and it doesn't look like it would be much of a stretch for them to go vegan.

Good luck!

Dude, you should do the Chow Baby. Reasonable price and tons of veggies, tofu and vegan sauces. It's not even 10 am and now you've got me hungry, dammit.
