I have a huge phobia of spiders. It's ridiculous. If I see one I have a panic attack, break out into hives, and cry and basically just act crazy and embarrass myself. I live in Missouri, and during the spring and summer months, it's impossible to avoid spiders. In particular, brown recluses. *shudders*

If it's big, it's probably not a brown recluse. From what I understand, recluse are relatively small.

I don't quite know what to do about your situation, but I thought I could maybe ease a few nerves :-P

thanks, I honestly have no idea what brown recluses look like, which is pretty pathetic since they're so dangerous and I live in an area where they're really common haha

Hey, I did a quick google search and here's what I came up with.

I typed in "natural spider repellent" and got a bunch of stuff, but those two were the first few I read through that seemed to be useful and not repetitive (but I am sure you could find more info and remedies if you looked.
Good luck!

I used this second suggestion with wonderful success. The hords of Georgia spiders flocking to my house did *not* like having soap on their feet.

I am also terrified of spiders but refuse to let anyone kill them. I recommend this product!

This site has some pretty awesome recluse ID info. While you probably won't get close enough to see if the spider has six or eight eyes, the other characteristics (violin shape on cephalothorax, uniform body color, uniform leg color) are pretty easy to spot at a distance.
