Yeah. They also sued the sanctuary before FoA owned them because chimps had died at the property/ were mistreated- http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms2/summary_0286-31548334_ITM

Hopefully things have changed for the better there; though I did hear back in 2006 that an FoA employee was fired because he went to the sanctuary while FoA was defending it and wouldn't stop talking about how the chimps were in horrible condition (FoA maintained that they never were)

All of those legal fees could go towards hiring additional employees to help take care of the animals. I mean, what with the economy and all I'm sure well qualified people are looking for jobs.

I've never heard of FoA before and thus don't know much about them and their history with the chimps. If those animals in their care are being looked after properly and have a permanent place to live out their lives as they obviously cannot be returned to the wild, I am so annoyed at PETA for this.

I'm not a PETA fan anyway, but this? Ugh! They're just becoming more irritating and stupid as time goes on. I feel like so many of these PETA officials have developed large heads and want to martyr themselves or something, while not really doing that much...

ugh.

I don't much about the PPI but I have used FoA Spay/Neuter program a few times before and have passed the info on to others.
