Vegan food in Jerusalem (and JFK airport)

I'm going to be leaving for Jerusalem on Friday for a conference. Does anyone have any food suggestions? Places to eat within walking distance of Hebrew university are especially helpful, as are things I should know how to say in Hebrew (although probably everyone speaks English, right?).

Getting food during my layover in JFK (terminal 3 or nearby) would also be a good idea. Can anyone recommend anything there?
