I asked Old Mother Hubbard, the makers of Wellness pet food, if they conducted standard animal testing on their products, and I thought some of you might be interested in the reply.

sad news... those kennels "with standard processes" are pretty horrible (dogs with tubes sticking out of their stomachs, etc.

there's a sad nytimes article on those labs, but i can't find it since searches for pet food testing bring up too many melamine hits.

really? i got the impression they just went to say, a shelter, and swapped the kibble out.

i'd really like to read more.

but there was another a while back about the largest pet food testing center (in NJ, i think) for most companies that involved dogs with tubes in them, etc.
