i read a good quote recently that i want to reference in an email response to someone, but now i can't find it
it's something like "during slavery, the answer was not less slaves but no slaves. the answer was not less children in sweat shops but no child labor" etc like that and ends with something like "so our answer is not less animals in cages but none" and talks about abolition
the main point is about how abolition - not welfare or just better treatment - is the only reasonable position regarding human relations to other animals
