Um. I don't agree that someone being "a former user of cocaine, heroin, and LSD" is necessarily a bad thing. I agree Bourdain is an idiot, but using that fact "against" him is really just perpetuating some kind of anti-drug bullshit, IMO. Lots of vegans out there used to use/still use cocaine, heroin, and LSD (i wouldn't even put LSD in the same category as cocaine and heroin either), and they're not bad people.

whoever, to address something you said directly. i have yet to encounter a current (or former for that matter) heroin/cocaine user who is a good person. maybe its "anti-drug bullshit", maybe my location has a higher douche bag/druggie ratio, maybe i have had too much of my shit stolen for drug money, maybe one too many people i care about have been abused... who actually knows, but for whatever reason I steer clear of cocaine/heroin users.... could just be me though.

this is not intended to spark a debate on weather drug users are bad people or not.
just sayin' ... you know?

haha well saying you have yet to encounter a current or former user who is a good person isn't really a valid point, yet by bringing it up you seem to be making it seem like it is. it's the equivalent of saying "ive never met a vegan who was healthy" or "i have yet to meet a vegan who isn't a jerk!". just because you've dealt with the negative ones, doesn't mean they're all like that, nor does it mean you haven't encountered nice people already who just weren't vocal about that aspect of their life :)

right. I understand the point you are trying to make. however, my personal experiences have caused my opinions of drug use and users. I am more of an advocate for sober activism, maybe you are open minded to drug use and users (specially referring to cocaine and heroin), I am not. its all relative to personal shit. I am an extremely open minded person, or consider myself to be. however, drugs are just something I can't deal with.

personal experience aside, that isnt why i posted the quote. i posted it to further showcase what a jackass (or to quote the person above me) "scrotum" bourdain is.
