The same is true here (plant foods being more efficient, and there being problems with people having limited resources), but it hasn't turned many people vegan :( I foresee rabbits or poultry being transported pretty early on.

But mostly, lol, I want some of whatever you're smoking right now ;)

And there was me thinking I didn't have to post the 'I'm not smoking weed/crack/pcp right now!' message!

You need to bring bees to pollenize the plants...

what! why would you NEED to do that?

Not all plants need insects and hand pollination is an option. In such a small scale farm as would be used by early colonies and ships, hand pollination will be enough.

well in theory, if you let the bees just be bees they will still pollenize plants, and you could just leave them alone and not make honey from them or whatever.

on the other hand, they would be trapped in the space colony and held there against their will, unlike on earth.

lol why am i thinking about this?

humans have already destroyed one planet
we don't deserve the chance to destroy another
don't support space colonies

Awww c'mon!, surely an erudite anarchist such as yourself has read 'The Dispossesed' by Le Guin?

I think corporations would make a killing (no pun intended) shipping meat and other animal products up into space.
