Don't laugh! OK, laugh.
We just moved to a new house, and I'm giving some thought to replacing our very old, beat up, dust, pollen and mold-spore riddled sectional sofa. Seriously, this thing was dumpstered about 15 years ago. It is time for a "new" one.
I'm watching Craigslist, maybe I'll find something I like, but the one that I really love is the Ikea Ektorp corner sofa because of the washable and readily replaceable covers. I have cats, so if I'm going to shell out the big bucks for a new sofa, I'd like something that I can repair and replace the covering on without spending hundreds of dollars getting it reupholstered. It seems ideal. The problem is that the seat cushions are topped with duck feathers. This is not OK. Does anyone know of a similar style of sofa that is not stuffed with meat industry by-products out of China?
As I said, I like the removable fitted covers. That is the #1 selling point for me. Under $2000 is my absolute limit.
