Advice!

I currently just got a job at a movie store. Things have been going okay, people have been supportive of the fact that I'm vegan (when they order food they make sure there's an option for me, etc.), and everyone is at least AWARE of the fact that I am a vegan. so poor people can't want candied sweet potatoes or cranberry sauce or green bean casserole on thanksgiving? um, ok.

exactly! i found it really ironic because before they were slaughtered,the turkeys ate grains that could've fed PEOPLE.

i think that i'm just going to do that. plus, i'm having a vegan potluck for all of my friends on the day BEFORE thanksgiving, i don't really believe in thanksgiving to begin with. on thanksgiving, i might see if i can help out at a food shelter or something, i'd rather donate time than money anyways.

They do. It isn't great though. Beluga lentils are cool for getting the look and texture, if not the taste.

You should go back and tell him that there are poor vegetarian/vegan family members who would benefit from having edible side dishes.
