It doesn't even make sense to have a nude model. I don't like "ink not mink" or "I'd rather go naked than wear fur" but at least those campaigns had a vague reason to contain nudity.

Good point!

Whilst the original "I'd rather go naked than ware fur" ads were catchy and new at the time, it seems it's all a bit gratuitous now, like every campaign has to have naked people. Not sure it has as much of an impact.

It's a reference to Lady Godiva, I'm quite sure, given the length of hair. Her legend is of compassion and humility. It's quite appropriate in that way.
