Election year

Voting Republican is NOT vegan. Conservatives have long supported policies that are detrimental to wildlife and the environment. your vote this november and every election, should reflect your lifestyle accordingly.

i have to say it is more about platform than party.
this is like saying being with a man is not feminist.

you can find that info on the web ;)
i am not republican, but nor am i democrat. there *are* vegan republicans. all i am saying, is that we should avoid sweeping generalizations across political parties. just because animal rights is a progressive cause, it doesn't exclude particular party members.

vegan republicans holding office? i dont think so. and the reason i made this post is FOR the people that are republican or voting republican but are vegan.

so then you are telling vegan republicans that, if they vote republican, they are not actually vegan.
i see.

if the shoe fits. i mean supporting companies that animal test isnt really vegan so why would supporting policy makers that enable that behavior and more be vegan?

Anyone who isn't vegan enables non-vegan behavior. Do you expect us to move to all vegan communes and not interact with non-vegan people at all?

Not to be a thorn in your ass but didn't you hear Obama say "Democrats are meat eaters" ... Just as many democrats profit off of animal agriculture. That's why they are ALL for subsidies in this area. Very few democrats/republicans are supporters of the vegan or animal rights cause. So it's sort of hard to make such a judgement. However, Palin DID indeed support aerial shootings of wolves and bears (she also rewarded anyone who brought her back a leg with a $200 check). If republicans stuck to true republican ideals and if they believed in TRUE democracy - as they preach - than I bet that being a republican would be even better but because it's so corrupt - just as the democratic party, they don't practice what they preach. (Go figure, right?!)

of course democrats arent supporters of animal rights, they do however do a LOT more in terms of environmental and wildlife protection. i in no means endorse the democratic party, my point is though that republicans almost never do anything positive to help animal welfare, were democrats do more often than not.
