Moosewood has really good deserts, but I find that most vegetarians and vegans I know have been disappointed in the food there. ABC is better, in my opinion. If you like Thai food, Thai Cusine and Taste of Thai Express are my favorites (Taste of Thai, not to be confused with Taste of Thai express is more expensive, and I find the place smells of fish sauce, although they are happy to make fish-free vegan stuff.) You'll find vegan options on the menus at loooottts of places in Ithaca. Maxie's Supper Club is good for cajun food. The bbq tofu there is pretty good. Even Shortstop, a 24 hour sandwich sort of place has vegan stuff... a really good seitan sandwich. Diamonds, the indian restaurant downtown is better than the indian place in college town, even though it doesn't look as good. Viva has decent (and very vegan friendly) Mexican. OOH! OOH! My favorite non-Thai place in Ithaca is Just a Taste. It's a tapas bar with amazing food. If you go you can ask what is or could be made vegan and they'll mark the options for you, and they're open to alterations of non-vegan things.
Besides living in Ithaca for a few years, I worked at the visitor's center, so I'm a fountain of restaurant recommendations. :-) Like I said, I love, love, love the desserts at Moosewood, but the rest is a little underwhelming... not as good as the cookbooks! Although it is sort of a veggie pilgrimage to make. :-)
