I'm taking the step to try to convince my boss and the owner of the company that we should offer a vegan alternative to our regular chocolate dipped strawberries. Here's the website for the confectioner's page on Dagoba's website. Theirs is organic, sustainable and ethically sourced, but expensive.

On the cheap, Trader Joe's pound-plus dark is vegan, IIRC.

Hrmm... At their 5 lb. bag price, the cost would be too prohibitive, unfortunately. We would be looking at around $11 just for the chocolate per 1 dozen box.

Granted, I know that we are generally used to paying more for 'luxury' items that cater to the vegan community, but that would add at least $10 to an already somewhat expensive product.

I'll have to see if I can find information on wholesale pricing, though.

MMM Endangered Species chocolate. Holy crap, it's soo good.
Some of it isn't vegan(like the milk chocolates) but the dark chocolates are certified vegan! Check 'em out.

I love Endangered Species chocolate, but I don't know that they do wholesale. I'll check it out, though.

I don't know if this helps at all, but these people have wholesale dipping chocolate which appears to be vegan:

No problem. I found it by just searching on some chocolate wholesalers sites. So if this particular chocolate doesn't work out, you may find others that way.

Yes, definitely perfect! Based on the 10 lb. pricing, it would only be about $4.25 per box for the chocolate, which really isn't much more than the cost of our regular chocolate.

Now I just have to convince her!

Guittard in white, milk and dark.

Is it their molding chocolate? Because I'd assume that any of their dark chocolates would be vegan.

I've confirmed based on the nutritional information that we send out with every package. The dark that we use is most definitely NOT vegan.
