You know, there are an AWFUL lot of ana and mia (Pro-anorexia and bulemia) groups on lj, but the weird thing is that I find them when I search for the word 'vegan'. I looked at some of the posts in those communities. One community's icon was even something as ridiculous as 'In N' Out Purger'. I understand freedom of speech, but how is it ok for so many people to encourage others in this type of self-destructive behavior? Isn't it against some sort of law to encourage self-destruction? Anyways, even more importantly, why does it come up when I search for vegan? That's a terribly bad rep to give to vegans who actually understand that eating is healthy and natural. I was wondering if anyone here has any thoughts on this? I hate to see people do this to themselves and see no one do anything about it or intervene.
