sugar

May 30, 2008 20:09

for awhile i ate plain regular old sugar, but after some research i found out it isn't vegan. i've noticed sugar is kind of a controversial subject among vegans, so i'm wondering if you guys eat it.

Luckily I live in an area where beet sugar is the default white sugar, so it's a moot point. If that weren't the case, it would depend on how readily available suitable sugars are. If unreasonable, I think it falls under the "possible and practical" exception clause.

Hit up health food stores.
Most places that specialize in organics also sell Vegan products.
Check labels for everything though, sometimes the so called
"Vegan" products end up being a scam and still have
animal products under different names etc.

Brooklyn, NY?
Look for the "Happy Cow"
D'Ital Shak, Imhotep or Back to the land.
They all sell Vegan-friends products and will
most likely supply beet sugar.

may I ask why you write like that?

Write like what?
Short.

Studies say that the brain is able to
process what is being read much faster when
the format is similar to mine. It also inreases
the chance of retaining this information
for some reason. (:

Besides, writing all the way across to the other side of the screen is both annoying and pisses my OCD off for some reason.

In one of my graphic design classes last year I was taught there is a proper width for text sizes. You are exactly right. It is a lot easier to read. Would be a little better if the width was a bit more consistent though. :)

It's true.
But, sometimes my poetic side
takes over and forces me into
writing as I would be if I was
speaking.

& Then some words I can't leave alone.

I have an unspoken set of rules.
It's just the weirdest thing.

I write all of my creative writing (mostly poetry) like that. It takes up way more space but I can't seem to force it to be longer lines. I also have a friend who exclusively (on and offline) writes her lines that length.

It's soothing, I think.
