if you go to chicago diner, i recommend the fajitas and the reuben. i also recommend the raw cheesecake (better than ANY traditional baked vegan cheesecake i've had, ever). if you get a milkshake, go for the chocolate chip cookie dough with peanut butter. its gluttonous, but delicious. oh, unless they have the pumpkin (seasonal). if they have pumpkin ice cream, get something with that. mmmmmmmm! also, they have some VERY good brunch options, if you don't go there for dinner. their savory brunch dishes are best, i don't recommend pancakes or french toast there

At the Chicago Diner, I totally second the reuben and the chocolate chip cookie dough with peanut butter milkshake. I've also had a great raw vegan lasagna there. Normally I am not into seitan, but I really really (omg) enjoyed the reuben.
haha, i did the same thing! last time i visited chicago, i went there 4 days in a row for their french toast. 4 days. and parking around there is a bitch, but you know it was worth it.
its the old szechuan garden on broadway, but with the same menu. the prices aren't bad - its not a fancy place i want to say the average price of an entree is under ten bucks, and they do give you a good amount of food. they do more carry-out than dine in stuff. its on broadway a bit north of the clark and diversey intersection: 2901 N Broadway St. they list their veg dishes as "soy protein", "soy gluten", "wheat gluten", etc. one of those is faux shrimp, which is the only thing there i do NOT like. i forget which one it is though, so you might want to ask.
