skin problems

I'd always heard that being a vegan gave you really nice skin cause you weren't eating any dairy. I have mild teenage-acne skin, and I really don't think anything has changed since I became a vegan (about 2 years ago). My skin breaks out just as much and it did before I became a vegan. Did anyone else's skin not get any better after they became vegan? Is skin even affected by diet? I drink lots of water and eat fresh fruits and vegetables... Would cutting out more packaged foods (crackers, chips, veggie burgers etc.) help? What are some good foods to eat for better skin?
