I take Soul Food spirulina and I was wondering if anyone here takes a spirulina supplement too, and what they think of it?
Since starting it two months ago (I've been vegan for three months), I've felt a lot better all around. I take an iron complex too, since spirulina is not a good source of iron and the debate still goes on about the bioavailability of B12 in the algae. There was a scare about algal supplements containing microcystins that could damage your liver but from what I've read, the conclusion that was arrived at was that it was only non-spirulina algal supplements that were unsafe.
So - what are you experiences? Good, bad, ugly - got anything I should know?
