Ok I have here a somewhat inconsequential dilemma, but I'm going to present it anyway, because, well, I, um, love you all and highly value your help and possible expertise?
Yes, of course. That's it.
Anyhoozle, I went and ordered my periodic load of vitamins and supplements from the supplement gods at
bodybuilding.com. I decided to try a few different things other than my usual trusty
DEVA products. I found NOW veggie glucosamine for a bit less, so I got that. Then I decided to try valerian again, because I've been taking melatonin and I know it's not so good to take it for a long time. Well, NOW had valerian, too, and cheap, and the
product description made no mention of gelatin capsules, so I ordered a bottle.
Well my shipment of dope box of fine supplementation arrived today (in record time, as it always does from
bodybuilding.com). :Vanna pose with box:
I'm all "numnumnumnum SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP" and I open the bottle of valerian and besides it smelling funkier than I remember valerian smelling, I glance at the bottle and see "250 capsules". All my other happy NOW products say Vcaps if they're, well, Vcaps.
Thing is, neither
bodybuilding.com's
product description, nor
NOW's website, nor the bottle, say anything about the capsule being gelatin.
It even says Other Ingredients: none.
Really! Look!
Then there's this on the NOW website's product listy.
(The one I bought is outlined in red)
So, anyway, Oh me, Oh my, what do I do? I can't return the bottle, because I am smart and opened it.
Does anyone here know for sure what the deal is? Is it gelatin or is NOW just really weird and labels some as Vcaps and the rest capsules? Are they big meanies and purposely leave gelatin off the label?
I don't really feel like swallowing gelatin, so for tonight I'm going to empty 2 capsules into empty Vcaps I have, but I'd hate to have to do that every night unless I have to.
Yes, yes, I know I could/should/would write the company. I also know I've never received replies or received them a billion years later, so I figured I'd see if I could hear it here first.
Thanks so much, all!
Edit: I already know what to do with them if they are gelatin, thanks. I'm posting in the hopes that someone here knows for sure whether they are. Thanks.
