This Thanksgiving is going to suck.
Usually I leave most vegan meal preparation to my sister. Last year she enjoyed shopping and making vegan food for us, but this year she's having Thanksgiving with her boyfriend and his family. She forgot to mention that to me until last night when he came to pick her up.
I'm dirt poor, and my mom won't give me any money to make a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up some ingredients I need to make a vegan main course. She says I'll have mashed potatoes (which isn't true, we're out of soymilk), broccoli, and stuffing (which also isn't true, we have no vegan broth).
I'm starting to hate Holidays. They only serve to prove just how little my family (my mother at least) actually care for me. Last year my sister and I were forced to sit and eat in the living room to accommodate more people in the dinning room who were somehow more worthy of seats because they'd be eating turkey.
Ugh, I'm being whiny but I don't care. I think it can be allowed at least every Holiday.
rants,
