So, I'm in the process of starting an animal advocacy group at my small college in Manhattan. I've gotten a surprising amount of interest and I think it's really getting off its feet! Yay!
I wanted to ask all of you if you've had any experience leading groups of this sort, or general experience with demos and projects.
Also, when advertising the group, I really tried to make it open to everyone, not just vegetarians or vegans. Any stand taken for animals counts a lot, to me. So another question I had was, how far can I push veganism as a topic of discussion or action? I don't want to scare away or intimidate my members, but I think anyone who cares about animals should be made aware of factory farming, etc. I was planning on showing some factory farm footage, which I know is so hard to watch. Is that too much? Any suggestions are welcome...thank you!!
