Okay. I know this is off-topic, but I need to lose weight, and I can't find any active veg*n weight loss communities that aren't pro ED. So I'm posting this here, and hoping: 1) that it doesn't get deleted, and 2) that all you resourceful, wise people will be able to give me some helpful tips to help me live healthier and lose weight.
So I've never been particularly happy with my body, but recently it's become an issue at my job. (I teach at my karate school 5 days a week, and my manager and the owner both tink I need to "look the part" more).
SO..umm.. here's I guess some basic info about how I normally exercise slash eat, and if you have any helpful suggestions on things I could change to help me lose weight, that'd be great.
Exercise: Mon./Wed. --> teach karate 4:00-5:45, then kid cardio kickboxing 5:45-6:30
Tues./Thurs. --> teach karate 6:30-7:15, (take)teach cardio kickboxing 7:15-8:15, (take) karate 'til 9:00
Sat. --> karate 8:00-8:45, cardio 'til 9:45, then teaching 'til noon thirty
(Also, every second and fourth Saturday of the month, we have staff meetings/leadership team work outs, and every third Saturday of the month, there is a 1.5-2 hour long black belt only class combining all five of our schools).
Edit: And because sensei Dries (manager/head instructor) isn't feeling well this week, I get to teach from 5 tonight (Thurs.) until closing at 9. Yumm.
And umm, I guess I'll just tell you what I ate today, so you can get a ball park idea of what I'm doing wrong:
+a luna bar
+a (whole wheat, oatmeal) banana chocolate chip muffin
+2 bottles of vitamin water
+a bottle of powerade
+some soy crisps
+a veggie burger on a whole wheat roll
+some sauteed spinach
+a bowl of salad w/ red wine vinnegarette (sp?-I think I butchered that word..) dressing
+some tea (yumm)
PS: I'm 5'2" and approximately 140 lbs. (ew)
And I've been to my doctor twice about this; there's nothing physically wrong with me that would cause me to be overweight.
And just to post something relevant to veganism...
I know finding non-leather, comfortable, long-lasting shoes that aren't a bajilliion dollars can be a problem sometimes, so I'm just gonna recommend Crocs. (They even come in obnoxious colous!!)
