I REALLY HATE DEFENDING MYSELF IN THIS COMMUNITY! I'm a really happy, healthy, active vegan and I love everyone and everything and every animal, and yet I find myself accused of being rude and prejudiced and incompassionate. Please stop interpreting my comments in this negative light, as they are certainly not intended as such. I love reading your entries and interacting with you, but sometimes I find myself hesitant to post or respond to something in fear that I'll be attacked or accused of insensitivity. Whereas we should embrace our diversity and be amazed by how such a great variety of people comes together under the vegan unmbrella, we instead seem to be attacking each other for our different beliefs. I think it's good enough we're all vegan. Yay us. If we have nothing else in common, we shouldn't get upset. "You say you're vegan, so then why don't you agree with me on EVERYTHING?" We have one amazingly crucial aspect in common, and that's good enough. Why are we treating each other like enemies? WE'RE ON THE SAME SIDE!
More importantly, I think the animals would hate to see us arguing like this. They need us to be strong and unified so we can make successful progress. I dunno about you guys, but I'm a vegan for them; the health benefits are merely a bonus. Please let us never forget WHY we're doing this!
