creepy

This is one of the creepiest news stories I've seen in a while. I have a folder on my computer called "News," in which I save remarkable and disturbing stories about things people do to each other. But something about this really weirds me out more than most. It's like an Encyclopedia Brown two-minute mystery, but Japanese, and creepy ( Read more... )

I heard that joke originally in a pink ping-pong ball version at a yay-Jesus camp six or seven years ago (what the hell was I doing there?), and it goes through the kid's progression through high school and the dad keeps offering him ANYthing he wants for progressively better grades, but he asks for a pink ping pong ball, a box of pink ping pong balls, a crate of pink ping pong balls, and a room filled with pink ping pong balls. The punchline is basically the same, but an after-prom car crash gives the excuse for the son being on his deathbed.

This is also my favorite joke of all time, because I'm a sadist.

Oh my God. Seth once told a similiar joke to me about a kid who wants revenge on a clown that emberassed him in front of everyone after pulling him out of the crowd at the circus - he started telling the joke 10 minutes before I wanted to go to bed, the joke lasted - I shit you not - for over forty five minutes of explication, going deeper and deeper into detail, a whole life story about this guy who hates clowns - and the punchline is that the guy tracks down the clown and gets his revenge by telling the clown "hey fuck you". I didn't get it at first; I expected his PH. D. in medieval clown lore to pay off at some point but... nope. "Hey fuck you." It was... infuriating.

I heard that joke freshman year, from a guy named Ben Feldman. A real jokester, a pranskmith, a jackanape. His didn't last 45 minutes, though, and it was about the guy dreaming up elaborate ways to get revenge on the clown, and finally he says "Fuck you, clown." It was a pretty good joke, but I like the fact that Seth's was so long and clever (Ph.D. in Medieval Clown Lore? that's A+ material) and tortured you psychologically.

that's how i first learned the joke as well. it took the fellow that would tell it at least ten minutes each time.

Ok, but ten minutes... and forty five minutes... are very different things. I am not exagerating here. There was, no joke, a section on his disertation for his anti-clown Ph.D.
