Hi everyone,
I am not a vegan, but I give cooking lessons and one of my clients is trying to make the switch to an all plant based diets. Her reasons aren't because of animal cruelty but because she does not like all of the preservatives and more that go into all of the processed foods meat diets contain.
I have been scouring the internet for recipes, and have had a lot of success, but I am interested in actually talking to true vegans and finding out how they made the switch and what they did to do it successfully? She wants to go vegetarian first, then vegan. Is that a good place to start? Also, what are some vegan recipes that I can teach her that are simple enough for a novice in the kitchen, both in cooking and veganism? Can anyone recommend some cake and baking recipes? I do cakes for a living, but I just cannot seem to find good recipes that are vegan friendly. Either they do not taste good, or they are not vegan. They all call for some kind of egg or dairy product. Any input is appreciated.
I have looked at PETA and signed up for the vegan starter kit; has anyone used it or know if it works?
Thanks
